A quote's price is seeded from whichever Customer Pricelist you pick when adding a line, then frozen - every field (Description, Qty, Unit Price, Amount) is a plain editable value from that point on, exactly like a spreadsheet cell. A later change to the source pricelist's margin never reprices an already-built quote. Saving writes directly to Azure Blob Storage (quotes.json), plus a timestamped snapshot under quotes-history/ as an audit trail.

Qty, Unit Price, and Description are all plain editable values once a line is added - changing the Pricelist selector above only changes what "Add Product…"/"Add Lumber…" offer next, it never touches lines already on the quote. Colors are spelled out in Description via the code→name legend you maintain in "Manage Color Codes…"; an unmapped code segment still shows (raw) instead of silently disappearing. Description is only composed from that legend once, when a line is first added - if you add new color codes to the legend afterward, click "Refresh Descriptions" to re-compose every line on THIS quote against the current legend (anything you've since hand-edited gets overwritten too, so review before saving/printing). "Add Lumber…" only offers a lumber row the selected pricelist has included (priced per foot on Customer Pricelists) - enter a custom length to get a per-board price, and a desired board count to see it rounded up to a full pallet (the Planned Costs tab's own Boards per Pallet setting). "Add Set…" groups several products onto one line (e.g. 4 chairs + 1 table) so a customer sees them as a set - the Set Price is always the sum of its components' (per-set Qty×Unit Price) and updates live as you edit them; the Qty column on a set's own row is the number of sets, and Amount is Set Qty×Set Price. Each component's Qty shows the TOTAL across every set (4 chairs at Set Qty 1 becomes 8 the moment you change Set Qty to 2) - raising or lowering Set Qty scales every component's total automatically; hand-editing a component's Qty instead changes how many of that item go in EACH set, which then still scales with Set Qty from there on. A quote with no sets on it looks exactly as it always has.
